Veterinarians & Staff

Dr. Jim FitzSimons has over thirteen years experience serving the companion animals of Cumming and the surrounding communities.  A graduate of the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996, Dr. FitzSimons is experienced in emergency medicine as well as general practice.  His areas of special interest include senior pet wellness, internal medicine, and oncology (the treatment of cancer).  He and his wife Jennifer enjoy scuba diving, hiking, and travel.  His furry family includes Guinness, Angel, and Salem.

Dr. Amanda Kaczmarek was born in Buffalo, NY and relocated to Tulscaloosa, AL as a teenager.  She received her bachelor's degree in Zoology and her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University. She had practiced in a small animal hospital in Buffalo for two years before relocating to Alpharetta with her Golden Retriever Belle and her cat Sofia (all southern girls at heart).  Dr. Kaczmarek has a passion for surgery with a special interest in orthopedics.  Outside of work she enjoys running, hiking, and cheering on the Buffalo Bills!
