We consult with a specialist on each case to make sure we’re making the best decisions for your pet. If our specialist recommends that a board-certified oncologist lead a case, we won’t hesitate to make the referral. We aim to treat your dog as we would our own. This means helping your pet maintain a great quality of life, balancing any underlying conditions, and minimizing side effects. We believe every pet deserves both time and well-being, and we won’t recommend treatments that can’t provide both.
Coordinated Care for Dog Cancers
We are equipped to deliver most chemotherapy protocols. We commonly treat lymphoma, mast cell tumors, and transitional cell carcinoma without having to refer dogs to a specialty center. We also provide post-surgical chemotherapy for hemangiosarcoma and osteosarcoma. Working with on-site, board-certified surgeons enables us to perform many cancer surgeries in our clinic while still delivering excellent outcomes.
Minimizing Side Effects of Dog Cancer Treatments
Side effects of cancer therapy are always a concern. Veterinary medicine uses lower doses and less intensive treatment schedules than human medicine. Most pets we have treated for cancer over the past 25-plus years have experienced minimal-to-no side effects and have enjoyed a great quality of life during treatment.
