General-to-Advanced Surgeries
Cumming Veterinary Clinic offers a full range of common to advanced surgeries for cats, dogs, and exotic pets. By partnering with board-certified surgeons who perform procedures at our hospital, we greatly expand our in-house capabilities and limit our need to refer clients elsewhere.
Safety First
All animals undergo pre-surgical exams with bloodwork prior to anesthesia. Prior to anesthesia, the surgeon will address any identified problems that could put an animal at risk.
Common Surgeries
The veterinarians on staff at Cumming Veterinary Clinic perform routine wellness surgeries, including spay, neuter, and dentistry.
Other commonly-performed procedures include:
- foreign object removal
- bladder stone removal
- mass removals
- splenectomies
You can feel confident that we will always recommend the care we would give our own pets. We won't perform a surgery that would have a better outcome under the care of one of our partner specialist surgeons.
Advanced Procedures
Dr. FitzSimons performs advanced dental procedures, including root planing, extractions, and oronasal fistula repair. He can also perform full mouth extractions for FORL lesions in cats. He is skilled in ACL repair with lateral suture technique for torn ACL.
Dr. Julie Duval provides numerous advanced soft tissue surgeries, including perineal urethrostomy (for urinary blockage in male cats), liver mass removal, gallbladder removal, parathyroid tumor removal, soft palate resection, and any cancerous mass that is most appropriately managed by a board-certified surgeon.
